The Red Bus Bistro Valentine’s Experience for two begins with a celebratory glass of champagne. Couples are then seated upstairs on the top deck of the 1966 Routemaster, where gastronomic delights are served up.
Starters include a choice of Deconstructed Caesar Salad – chicken roulade stuffed with a herb, anchovy and chicken mousseline served with dressing, charred gem lettuce and crostini. Other choices include Creamy Tomato Soup served with freshly cracked black pepper and freshly baked bread, straight from the oven. Or choose Chicken Liver Parfait served with Parma Ham and whiskey chutney and oatcakes.
Moving on to the main course, there is a choice of three dishes including Braised Venison, slowly cooked in a delicious red wine jus, served with fresh baby carrots or chantenay carrots with greens still on and green beans wrapped in ham, all served on a bed of herb fried mushrooms. The 2nd dish on offer is a Red Pepper Stuffed Roast Chicken Supreme served with garlic white wine sauce and fondant potato. And finally the vegetarian option is a fragrant Roasted Vegetable Masala served with Jasmine rice and Naan bread.
The highlight of this gourmet getaway has to be the desert menu which consists of a choice of Vanilla & Shortbread Cheesecake served with lime jelly and the freshest strawberries, a decadent Chocolate Tart and a Continental Cheeseboard.
