Join us onboard our 1966 Routemaster Double Decker for our Autism Friendly Tours. You will board the bus at Stance ZF, Waterloo Place (a few minutes walk from Waverley Station) where we will embark on a tour around the main tourist attractions that Edinburgh has to offer. The tour will last approx 90 minutes. There may be delays if there is bad traffic but this is not common. At the end of the tour you will be dropped off back at Waterloo Place. We have comfort breaks filtered into the tour, however we can stop as and when needed. This tour can accommodate up to 28 passengers (upstairs) which allows for our downstairs area to be used as our quiet / chillout area for our guests if required. Food will ready on the table for guests as they arrive and we are happy to accommodate any food/drink requests and requirements. Our Red Bus Bistro Crew have taken part in an autism awareness session and therefore have a good understanding of the condition and the Crew will do what they can to make our guests comfortable. Noises you may hear will be of the engine and generator running. We will keep the music off, lights low and announcements to a complete minimum. Sensory toys are available on autism-friendly tours.
The prices for this experience are based on the Tour only (i.e. no Afternoon Tea) if you do wish to have an Afternoon Tea, we ask that you make a donation towards National Autistic Society – this is at your discretion.
