Buses
- Our beautiful buses are vintage1966 Routemasters. As these are original buses which have been refurbished the seating is smaller than today’s sizes.
- The buses can be warm in the summer and cooler in the winter. We do carry blankets onboard that are for use however please dress appropriately for the weather condition. We do use small gas heaters to heat the bus prior to boarding. For safety reasons these cannot be used whilst the bus is in motion.
- As these are original buses the stairs are steep so, please bear this in mind when booking and maybe ask for a downstairs seat.
- Unfortunately, due to the age and design of the Bus we cannot accommodate wheelchair passengers. We have a small storage area to store a fully collapsible wheelchair, if the passenger can transfer to a seat downstairs.
- Passengers with mobility concerns should contact us immediately prior to booking to ensure a suitable downstairs table is reserved for them free of charge. Should there be no availability for the date/time chosen, a suitable alternative will be offered.
- Downstairs tables are generally unavailable on Evening Tours.
- There is no toilet on board, however all tours will include a comfort break.
- We operate vintage Routemaster Buses, and although we keep our vehicles in the best possible maintenance condition, there will be times that unforeseen maintenance issues may arise and result in a disruption to the tours, or cancellation; however we will endeavour to do everything in our power to avoid any disruption.
- As this is a moving vehicle cup holders are provided to hold tea/coffee thermos cups.
- You are advised to hold your glasses at all times whilst the bus is in motion. Red Bus Bistro will not be held liable for any spillages.
- Smoking is not permitted on the Bus at any time.
Bookings
- Full payment is required at the time of booking. Once your booking has been confirmed that is non amendable and non refundable.
- Gift vouchers are non refundable.
- Bookings are only valid for the date and time stated on the booking confirmation.
- Passengers are requested to arrive ten minutes before departure from your indicated pick-up point. Unfortunately, we cannot wait for late comers as we run a strict timetable.
- Refunds will not be offered to latecomers.
- We offer gluten free, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian and other dietary options. These should have been requested at the time of booking, but please contact us immediately if this was overlooked.
- As food is prepared by our inhouse chef and some products are sourced via other suppliers we cannot we cannot guarantee a nut free environment.
- If you have any other specific dietary requirement, please contact us immediately so we can accommodate you.
- If the tour is cancelled after the first 30 minutes of a tour commencing, we will then offer availability on another tour.
- Age restrictions apply for all tours. Tours are suitable for children aged 5 and over in Edinburgh and 3 and over in Glasgow. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult per child. Evening tours are restricted to adults aged 18 or over.
- Red Bus Bistro Company Limited do offer refunds for cancellations by the company.
- For exclusive use of the bus all private hires are required to pay a 25% non-refundable deposit which will come off the total bill. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the tour date. We will contact you for payment. If you cancel your hires these payments are non-refundable.
- In the event of exceptional circumstances and you are unable to make your tour and its within 24hrs hour of the tour taken place, we may be able to reschedule your booking. However, these circumstances will need to be demonstrated and there will be a 20% administration fee for making any amendments to the booking.
- All gift vouchers must be utilised prior to expiry date as no extension will be provided and are non-refundable.
Onboard
- We are not a guided tour however there may be some commentary on our buses. Furthermore, there may be a singalong. We are a dining experience whilst touring Edinburgh or Glasgow.
- Passengers should expect to share a table, especially on our busier weekend tours. If passengers would rather not share a table, we can try and accommodate them on a quieter tour. Alternatively, to guarantee exclusive use of a table for four, a supplement of £10 per unused seat would be charged. Please contact us to arrange this reservation.
- All seating plans are allocated by Office Team and are subject to change right up until the departure time.
- To secure upstairs seat on the bus outwith the front seats, there is a charge of £4 per person. Please contact us to arrange this reservation.
- To guarantee the use of the upper-deck front seats, there is a charge of £6 per person. These seats are just for two people and there is only two available. Please contact us to arrange this reservation.
- Red Bus Bistro Company Limited reserves the right to refuse carriage of passengers who are intoxicated, or displaying threatening or abusive behaviour, no refunds will be given under these circumstances. We also ask that a reasonable standard of behaviour is adhered to while on the tour, as there are other passengers to consider.
General
- Red Bus Bistro does not take any responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of personal belongings while on the Bus.
- Conditions of carriage are subject to legislation set out by the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981; all details can be given by the Red Bus Bistro head office.
- Red Bus Bistro Company ltd. is not responsible for any damage caused by passengers breaking the rules or any accidental damage.
- It is not the policy of Red Bus Bistro Company Limited to discriminate in any way against employees or passengers regarding disability, gender, race, sexual orientation or religious beliefs etc.
- Red Bus Bistro Company Limited will go out of its way to cater for a diverse audience as possible within the physical confines of the bus and will always follow the Equalities Act.
- All information gained from passengers will never be shared with third parties for marketing purposes; Red Bus Bistro Company Limited is responsible for all online transactions.
